The Rest

I'm so happy we got to spend a lot of quality time with our Utah family this past week. I'm pretty sure we did a little of everything. We went shopping. We ate yummy food. We went to see Thoroughly Modern Millie and were wowed by performer who was especially excited to be there.
We watched basketball games (and some of us even watched them while attending Millie). We took turns testing out Tony's new golf clubs and Max received his first unofficial golf lesson. By the end he was pretty good at getting the grip right. We drove down to Provo to visit our favorite Cougar. It was Blake's first time back since we graduated so we took a tour of the new Tanner Building, the new Gordon B. Hinckley Alumni Center, and, of course, ate at the Cougar Eat. Man, I've missed those wraps. And we did a lot of playing. We played at the store, at Great Myrtice's, and Grandma's. We played horses (really My Little Ponies, but it's more manly to say horses, right?), cars, the slots (a story in itself), guitars, letters and words, I-spy, and hide-and-seek. Andy and Tony did a good job entertaining the boys. I think they liked Andy for his funny games and Tony for his height. There's no one better than Tony to lift you up to reach the ceiling.

But sorry guys, I think Max and Jack's favorite is Grandma. Grandma took care of the boys all day long and they (and I) loved every minute of it. As an example of exactly how much they love her, one night, while Max was sleeping in bed with me, he woke up, and patted my face. I thought it was to make sure I was still there and maybe cuddle closer to me. Nope. Instead he said, "No, I don't want you, Mommy. I want Grandma." Then he picked up his blankets, walked out of the room and went and slept with Grandma. And he slept with Grandma the rest of the time we were there. Lucky Grandma. Lucky Mommy. But I don't know about a lucky Grandpa...
