Cartoon Art Museum

Blake's morning class cancelled + first Tuesday of the month free-day at museums + yummy food = lots and lots of family fun.

We actually went downtown this morning with the intention of going to the MOMA, but after about 20 minutes of saying, "Don't touch that! Don't touch that!" over and over and over again and seeing this sculpture of 224 black poodles circled around a naked infant, we decided we just weren't feeling the MOMA today.
So we rounded the corner over to the Cartoon Art Museum. It was much more our style and the boys recognized several of the characters in the pieces of art. The highlight for Max was the cartoon show playing on the TV. And the highlight for Jack was the picture of, who else but, Dumbo. Thank you, San Francisco for having something for everyone.
After the museum, we lunched at Delfina Pizzeria. We've been wanting to try it and were even brave and ordered a pizza with an egg on it. And the other reason we may have wanted to try it out is that it's across the street from the oh-so yummy Bi-Rite creamery. (Actually, this morning when Blake asked Max what he wanted to do with him, Max said--eat ice cream. So, we HAD to get some ice cream!) Blake was in a time crunch to get back to school, so we devoured our ice cream in the car. Max was a disaster when we got home, and believe it or not, besides a messy face, Jack only had one little drop of ice cream on his shirt when we got home. Fun day.
