Yes, We Drove to AZ
Of course the drive down wasn't bad at all with the nice stop over in the middle. And the way back actually wasn't bad either. We left at 4 pm Sunday night and arrived home around 3:30 early Monday morning, only stopping to quickly eat and another time to switch drivers. And even if the drive would have been awful, this trip would have been well worth it.
We made a trip to the lake to give the Air Chair another try and we're so happy Rusty, Caryn, and Birthday Boy Braden joined us. Blake is getting really good at shaking the water out of his face as he crashes up and down over the wake. I think he's going to perfect whatever trick he's been working on sometime very soon.
And thanks to Rusty and Braden's wakeboarding performance, Max wanted to give wakeboarding a try. Max wanted to be just like Braden and only cried to get back in the boat when he felt the cold, cold water. Once they started, he didn't want to stop. I still can't believe Max wanted to wakeboard, actually wakeboarded, and didn't want to stop. I was a proud mom. Thank you Rusty and Braden!
And sweet Baby Jack thoroughly enjoyed the boat ride. In fact, he even fell asleep on Nanny's lap. But the only problem with falling asleep on the boat when your mom doesn't put sunscreen on is you start with a smile on your face, but wake up with a sunburn paci line.

We also had an early birthday party for Jack. As we started out singing to him he just stared us, wondering what was going on. But after he reached out to touch the candle and there was a loud yell to stop him, he started crying and I'm surprised he even got close to the cake after that. He was a very cautious eater, getting a little icing on his finger and then licking it off. It's a good thing he had a lot of help from his cousins to eat the rest of the cake and even more help to open his presents. Thank you Nanny and Grandpa for a fun pre-birthday celebration.

But the best part about the trip was all the family time. We saw everyone except Vaughn. And Max especially loved all the cousin time. He was in heaven having all the kids around all the time. Unfortunately, I don't know if Ruby and Chloe loved having him follow them around all the time! Seriously, he wouldn't leave them alone. We love you, family!

I like the pics your camera takes. You are a pro! Happy Birthday Jack!
i love the swishing hair action shots in the "see? i told you!" perfect new room. and happy birthday, baby jack--once again! it was one fun, exhausting weekend that nanny is just now starting to fully recover from:).
I love the sunburned paci mark!
That was so much fun, and we are always happy when we get to see you guys!
i still can't believe jack's sunburn mark. it looks way worse in the picture than when i saw it. i guess he's taking after his mommy...so many unbelievably red and painful sunburns to show off. and i am going to steal some of your pictures.
again, was i not the most frequent visitor at nanny and gpas? where are beth and zoie?
