MISSING

MISSING: One diamond ring presented to me by my husband to be, September 30, 2001, at the Chapel of Love, Las Vegas, NV.EVENTS LEADING UP TO THE DISAPPEARANCE: On Friday, Jack's head was looking a little dry. So, I got some lotion and brought it out by the couch to apply. I took off my ring so it wouldn't get lotion stuck in its crevices and between my finger. While I was rubbing in the lotion, Max came over and grabbed "Mommy's special ring." He likes to put it on and I thought I'd just get it back from him when I was done. Well, since I am completely batty, by the time I was done with the lotion, I forgot Max took it. It wasn't until an hour later that I remembered and asked him where it was. He told me it was on the table. It wasn't on the table. I frantically looked for the rest of the day and couldn't find the ring anywhere. Even after Blake came home, we spent the rest of the night looking for it. No where. We really did look everywhere. We took everything off the shelves and out of the drawers. We looked under (and in) the fridge, stove, and dishwatsher. At one point Max told me he put the ring in his mouth; so yes, we were even looking there. Max thought it was a fun game and tore the books off the shelf even after I had put them back. We basically came to terms with the fact that when we found it, it wouldn't be until we moved, if we found it at all. And Blake couldn't even be mad at me since he already lost his ring on our trip to Missouri. I had no one to blame but myself. FOUND: Today I went to get a specific blanket out of our blanket basket to curl up and read a book. When I pulled the blanket (about 2 down) off, I saw the most beautiful sparkle ever! My ring! I swear I even looked in the basket. I guess I just didn't go deep enough. I can now sleep tonight and will never again take my ring off to save it from a little lotion.

I'm so glad you found it! I was getting so nervous for you. I love the picture of Max "helping" you look for the ring by pulling the books off and laying in the bookshelf! Silly Max!

What a relief!!! I know that sick feeling all to well! Blake did such a great job in getting you that beautiful ring, I understand why Max would want to try it on. Max must have been teaching you a lesson! Come on, look at that little angel in the bookshelf. We all know that he would never loose it on purpose!
I'm soooo glad you found it! Prayers really are answered!

OH my gosh! I am so glad you found it! I would have died! Rusty would have pointed out the fact he can't lose his since it won't come off and made me look till I found it! Agh! What a helper Mr Max is, teaching you a life lesson huh, right?

That is such a nightmare! I lost my ring while we were engaged. I found it the next day outside in the gutter by my car. I'm a big believer in miracles. Bryce, however, has lost 4 wedding rings. His currently sits on our bulliten board. I don't even remember the last time he wore it. I'm glad you found your ring!

blake lost his ring? i don't remember that part in your trip summary. and i'm happy you found your ring. i've gotten that panic feeling inside when you can't find it. not a good feeling. and you're a nice mom to let max touch your special ring. my girls know they can only hold nanny's ring, not mine, and that's because nanny isn't so good at saying no. right mom? i guess i'd rather play with her ring anyway too if i were them.

Blake-
Apparently we have a mutual acquaintance (sp?). This is Ryan Johnston - from Gilbert. We were in the same chemistry class at ASU my freshman year and also hung out a few times at BYU. My wife and I are friends with Andrew and Ashly Lark, who once mentioned that they are friends with your sisters. So through a "7 degrees of..." game I found your site. Glad to see everything is going well for you. You can check out our page at ryanandpiper.blogspot.com
Enjoy
