HAPPY EASTER!

Our Easter festivities started Saturday night with egg decorating. We only boiled 6 eggs and that ended up being just about right. Max wasn't very interested. At first he liked coloring on the eggs with crayons, but then he wanted to hold them himself. Luckily we only had one casualty, which really wasn't that much of a casualty since then we got to eat it. Once we started dipping though, he had enough and went to play with his toys. So Blake and I finished up--some of our best work, I think.

Sunday morning Max woke up to a basket from the Easter Bunny! He was so excited that the Bunny remembered him. So, thank you to all you bunnies out there! He even got a little book to help teach him what Easter is really about. He enjoyed looking at the pages while he ate a few M&Ms. I think he's learning. And then, to top off the Easter experience, he was a pretty good boy at church. We ended up taking him into nursery for the last hour and then he was REALLY good. We're slowly transitioning. Only two months to go!
After church we had some of our San Francisco family over to help us celebrate Easter. Blake went and got chairs and 2 big tables from the church. We pushed the two tables together to form one big banquet table. I still don't know (and don't know if I WANT to know) how he got the tables from the church to our house, but I love when everyone can sit down and eat together. And eat we did! The food was so good--ham, funeral potatoes, rolls, fresh fruit, fluffy fruit, salad, deviled eggs, brownies, and home-made ice cream (mint flavored with crushed thin mint girl scout cookies). Everyone left with a full belly.
However, the food was not the biggest hit of our party. The biggest crowd pleaser was definitely the Nintendo. The little kids LOVED playing Duck Hunt. By the end they were pretty good. Max loves watching the big kids play. He was glued to their sides the entire time. But not only did the little kids like to play, so did the big kids. Their game of choice was Dr. Mario. Blake did an excellent job of defending our family's good name in the Nintendo world. I am a very proud wife!

And, like all good holidays, we had some other fun/interesting side stories, but I think I'll save those for another day. We are so grateful for our Savior, for his death and resurrection, and for the sacrifice he made for us. Happy Easter!

What a fun Easter. I would have paid money to see Blake getting those tables to your house! Did he carry them on his back? The possibilites are endless...

staring at the easter picture of hair-parted, grownup max i thought how weird that gage has never even seen this nephew of his (or 3 others by the time he gets home)!i was kinda hoping the table incident WOULD get in the day's account. . it's pretty funny! and time and time again it is proven how thankful my children are i'm a packrat and get rid of nothing--otherwise there would have been no nintendo entertainment on easter:)

Sounds like a great Easter! I want to know how you get your pictures to post side by side so nicely - I'm always having trouble with mine. Send tips please...
