Cold Turkey
So, I was too busy making sure I had every little thing for Baby Gus on the trip to Monterey, that I forgot probably the biggest thing for Jack--his paci. After Blake refused to stop and buy one, I thought for sure Blake was in store for the longest night of his life (our "room" was two rooms in one--Blake, Max and Jack in one room, me and Baby Gus in the other). But apparently it wasn't a big deal. And when we got home we put away the pacis before Jack could even see them and it still wasn't a big deal.
And there you have it. Cold turkey. Jack no longer has a paci. Now maybe his teeth will start moving back from their sticking straight out position and when he says "yes" it won't sound so much like "yeth." But he is still my baby.

I love this last picture. Jack was willing to share his blankets with Gus, but not his paci. :)

i especially like the 2nd pic of the sideways paci.
way to go jack! you are such a big boy! (he really looks huge next to baby gus)
sad day, i think--at least for moms. cutest paci pictures ever!
What a BIG BOY! And.... he really is just fine without it! Go JACK!
I thought Jack would have gone for Gus' paci -- you know, it's good to share. What a big boy.
Oh man... that mean Orthodontist Dad! Sometimes when I'd go to see Blake for an appointment I'd have to bring Mags and to keep her quiet and behaved I'd let her have her soother... sooooo embarrassing... but Blake was so nice and always said that it wasn't a big deal... now I know what he really thought. Ha!
Joel sat down and had the "when you turn 4" discussion with Maggie, she says she'll give it up, and Joel is pleased as plum pudding, but I don't think she has a clue about what he's really saying and what she's agreeing to.
Here's to hoping she handles it as well as Jack!
wow, cold turkey? way to go jack. and to have a baby with a paci around for temptation even...
way to go jack! that's pretty amazing. i am DREADING DREADING DREADING the day when i wean lucy off of hers. i'm thinking about doing it before the eight month mark, because i heard after that it gets more difficult. it's so hard to take away something she loves so much though!
